Power Engineer Central

How much are companies paying for a 2nd class ticket bonus?

Shell Scotford. $1500 / yr.

DOW Chemical: $250/mo.

Encana is paying $575/ month

Husky $3.75/hr

MEG Energy $637/month

CNRL 4$ per hour which works out to around 700/month or 8400/year. There is also a one time payment of $5000 for getting your second while working here.

$5.16/hr at Whitecourt Power.

At Cargill LTD crush plant (Clavet), the 2nd class retention bonus is $2500 quarterly but may soon become included in the wage instead of a bonus in order to have a more competitive hourly rate. The difference being that a retention bonus can be removed at any time whereas your wage is there to stay.

Keyera Stachan $8000/yr
Shell $9600/yr
Nexen Power Plant in Balzac (not the CEC) $2.36/hr + $5000/month retention bonus!

Hourly is better typically as the companies that pay "allowances" do not typically give you anything for overtime hours.

Hey Ozz.... $5000/ month???????

That isn't a rumor! I know a guy who just stared there. Nexen is trying to sell the plant and is doing everything they can to hold on to operators.

@Ozz

You sure it's not 500$ a month? Because a 60k a year bonus would, you would think, have half of Alberta applying. Heck it would drag my Dad outta retirement.

At Capital Power Corp outside Edmonton they pay 400$/mo for a 3rd and 700$ for a second.

$5.25/hr at Pengrowth Quirk Creek
