How to Post a Job

Having your job opening viewed by Canada's most popular online power engineering community is a big advantage.

And posting a job here is super easy! Just follow these simple steps.

1) Click on the "POST A JOB" button from the Jobs section of our site:

2) If you don't already have a basic member account with the PEC, you will be prompted to create one. Registering an account gives you the ability to create Job posts as well as comment and start discussions in the general news area.

3) After clicking "POST A JOB" when logged in, you will be taken to the Post a Job page as shown below.

4) Here you can fill in the title of the position, the city the job is based in, Job Type (inspection and instruction jobs are also accepted), and the required Class level (if any).

5) Type in a description of the job such as an introduction to the company, a summary of responsibilities, and qualifications required. Please also remember to include info on how prospective job applicants can contact you to get the job!

TIP: you can also paste text in from a Word document. In fact, I would recommend this technique since you can start a draft in Word, save it on your local computer, and then when a final version is ready for public you can paste the contents directly into the Description box here on Step 5.

6) Click "Preview" to see an example of what your job post will look like on the main site. If you need to make any changes, click the "Edit Job" button.

Click "Continue" when you are satisfied with your job and ready to proceed with publishing it to the site.

7) On the following page, you'll be prompted to choose a duration. You can choose to list your job for 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days. NOTE: currently you can take advantage of our $0 "Beta Launch Special" !

8) After choosing a duration, fill in your billing information. This information is for who will be making the payment for this job post. If you have the "Beta Launch Special" you won't actually get a bill, but we still need this area filled in.

Click "Continue" when this info has been filled in.

9) On this last step of the checkout, you are given the opportunity to review the order one more time. Click "Submit Job Ad" to send in the job.

When you submit the job, the next screen will say "Order Complete" !
(if there are any errors on this last step please contact us and we'll help you resolve the matter)

At this point, your job status will be "Pending". We like to have a quick review of the post before publishing it (and also require payment if that hasn't already been sent).

When your job post is published, you'll receive an email notification - with a link directly to the post. Where you and some of the best power engineering talent in Canada can see it live.
