What question was it? They write the rules, they ask the questions. My only advice is to NOT make a stink with them.... they might remember your name next time you write a paper.
How would you know it's a first class question? Obviously it's a 2nd class question if it's on a second class exam. You don't decide the level of difficulty of the questions, they do. Just because you found it too hard, doesn't mean the question was unfairly placed on the exam. Quit complaining, study more, and pass the same exams that everyone else has the same problems with.
I agree with "mb1" to a point. They do write the rules and make/mark the exams, although there is a standardization committee (SOPECC) that is there to prevent biasing from happening and to ensure qualifications for Power Engineers across Canada are the same, except Quebec??? Explain that one?
Why I don't fully agree is because my good friend challenged ABSA on a 1st Class Applied Mechanics exam, by requested a remark in the spring of 2011. He was certain that he got a passing grade and thought that their answer key was messed up. Turned out he was correct and after a month or so of pleading his case they confirmed that the answer key was incorrect and that he did pass the exam. His mark went from 62 to 82. He asked them if they were going to backcheck all the previous exams with that question on it and notify people if they got it correct and as a result passed that paper and they simply said not a chance. I think ABSA could benefit from a little healthy competition but what can you do, they are the legislated authority in Alberta. If you want that changed you had better start lobbying your local politician. Good luck with that!
That's incredible. I just 1A2 exam in December and got my results not long ago to be extremely disappointed with a fail. I thought I aced the exam. I will be sending it for a remark asap. Thank you for that tid bit!
