Power Engineer Central

Welcome to the PEC !

Hey and welcome to Power Engineer Central.

The PEC is a new online community specifically for power engineers.

Now, personally I'm not a power engineer... I'm just a techie. But I worked closely with "Power Prep Mike" to design the PEC. To create a super simple, easy way for power engineers to get questions answered, to share links, and to have some good old fashioned discussions.

We hope you enjoy it.

Here are some posts I just made to help you get started.

First step, How to Join the PEC

How to ask a Question

How to Start a Discusion

How to Share a Link

As with any new project, there might be the odd bug or quirk here and there. So be sure to bring anything like that our attention; front & center. By adding a comment below or starting a new discussion.

And of course, we'd love to hear any general feedback as well. Share your ideas, criticism, or anything site related by replying below or starting a new discussion.

p.s. - some other exciting features also on the way for the PEC. So keep coming back and watch as things develop!

I was able to join easily. Great job Derrick or do you prefer techie?

Techie, nerd, geek are all good - let's draw the line at dork though.

Thanks for creating this.

Derrick, good job on the forum. I look forward to utilizing it for all sorts of discussions. A couple recommendations to improve.
- Install a home button on each thread that takes you back to the main forum page.
- Have an email sent to all people that have commented on a topic when someone else comments on same thread.

Thats all I can think of for now. Thanks

Hey, great feedback. I took note of your first point and implemented a tweak. Now if you click the main "Power Engineer Central" logo at the top of any thread it will link back to the home page. This way we don't have to add any extra links or clutter (you probably noticed the very 'clean layout' I'm going for). What do you think?

And a way to subscribe to discussions is definitely a good idea. That will take a bit more work though, so for now you'll just have to check back frequently ;)
